TOYTOY x NDR Big Band STATEMENT SERIES

The concept for ‘ALWAYS’ borrows from the graphic notations of experimental music (see: John Cage, Iannis Xenakis). A set of graphic characteristics such as shape, color, behavior, movement, etc., was assigned to each instrument. The overall composition incorporated elements and colors from the NDR Big Band and ToyToy graphic identities. The shapes activate a series of virtual spaces as the cinematic, dystopian quality of the music sets the tone.
